THE CRYSTAL METHOD ANNOUNCE THE ‘DIVIDED BY NIGHT’ TOUR,

THEIR FIRST TOUR AS A LIVE ACT IN FIVE YEARS

SET TO LAUNCH AT COACHELLA VALLEY MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL

FRIDAY, APRIL 17

As THE CRYSTAL METHOD return from SXSW where they DJ’d various events promoting their fourth studio album DIVIDED BY NIGHT, set for release May 12 on their own Tiny e Records distributed by INgrooves/Fontana, the duo  have announced they will set off on their first official tour as a live act in five years.  The live show will be unveiled at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival on Friday, April 17.

THE CRYSTAL METHOD—who is Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland–will embark on a 30-plus date tour of North America.  It kicks off at the House of Blues in Boston, followed by stops at clubs and theatres including Metropolis in Montreal, Guvernment in Toronto, Webster Hall in New York City, House of Blues in Orlando, Dallas and Las Vegas, The Warfield in San Francisco, WaMu Theatre in Seattle, Commodore in Vancouver and Belly Up in Aspen, CO. The tour will wrap in Salt Lake City in mid-June and will include supporting acts Danger and LA Riots on certain dates.

After traveling the world for years performing inside their own custom-made dome awash  in a true rock n’ roll light show, The Crystal Method have decided to go back to the drawing board and create a brand new visual experience for their fans.

In other news, the pair unveiled the artwork for the DIVIDED BY NIGHT cover which was created by two-time Grammy Award-winner Neal Ashby of Ashby Design, whose clients include Warner Bros. Records, Virgin Entertainment Group, Capitol Records, ESL Records, EMI Music Group and National Geographic. The instantly iconic image he created depicts a giant globe made up of audio speaker heads hovering in mid-air, somewhere ‘divided by night.’

States KEN about the album title and the genesis of the artwork which represents the album title, “On a recent plane trip to a DJ gig, we caught an amazing sight. The sun was setting in the west. There were spectacular rich colors on the horizon, but on the ground below, it was night. We both were moved by this incredible contrast.” Adds SCOTT, “Divided By Night immediately popped into my head, not so much as an album title but as a metaphor for our lives. As I enjoyed this beautiful view from my cramped seat, I thought of my family in California and reflected on just how different these two worlds are.” “We lead pretty normal lives outside of our nights as The Crystal Method and that sunset scene and the concept of leading what sometimes seems like two separate lives just seemed to fit. Neal did an amazing job capturing that feeling with his artwork,” finishes KEN.

  1. Hey I clicked on your blog by fluke on feedburner while trying to find something completely obscure but I am truly happy that I did, You have just earned yourself another subscriber. 🙂

  2. obviously like your web-site but you need to check the spelling on several of your posts. Several of them are rife with spelling problems and I to find it very bothersome to inform the reality however I will certainly come back again.
