These latest additions to the Roland, BOSS, and EDIROL lines of products embody the quality, breadth, and depth of offerings from the legendary manufacturer of electronic musical instruments.
BOSS continues to push the envelope in compact pedal innovation with the new DD-7 Digital Delay pedal and SL-20 Slicer. The DD-7 takes the best features from its predecessors and expands creative potential with innovative types of delay, including Modulation Delay, classic modeled Analog Delay, expanded delay time, and more.
The BOSS SL-20 Slicer is a new twin pedal that instantly transforms guitars, keyboards, and vocals into pulsating groove instruments. The SL-20 features 50 onboard slice patterns with adjustable attack and duration, including an innovative Harmonic Slicer feature that generates percussive melodies.
EDIROL by Roland adds a new portable digital recorder and high-resolution audio interface to the mix. The flagship R-09HR (left) provides crystal-clear 24bit/96kHz fidelity with a dedicated analog input control, low-cut filter, limiter/AGC (Auto Gain Control), and gain boost. Roland’s Drums & Percussion Division is pleased to announce the addition of the TDW-20 expansion board and RMP-12 marching percussion instrument to its product line, as well as a key upgrade to the TD-12 V-Drums. The TD-12SV series V-Drums adds a second CY-12R/C crash cymbal and accompanying MDY-10U cymbal mount at no additional cost.
The Roland TDW-20 enables drummers to extend the power of their TD-20 V-Drums with wider dynamics, new sounds, new ambience effects, enhanced V-Editing, and improved functionality.
Tailored to the educational percussion field, the new Roland RMP-12 offers enhanced playability, expressiveness, and versatility for practice and performance applications. The 12-inch pad with rim triggering connects to a newly designed module and includes the Rhythm Coach®, an invaluable practice tool that helps drummers improve timing, accuracy, speed, and stamina.
The Synthesizer & Technology Division of Roland is pleased to announce two brand new synthesizers at this year’s Summer NAMM-the JUNO-Stage and GW-8. The new JUNO-Stage includes all the features needed for a streamlined live performance, such as simple split and layer functions, separate reverb and EQ knobs, and a dedicated XLR microphone input with reverb and vocoder. This 76-key synthesizer ships with a high-quality sound set, including an 88-key stereo multisampled piano derived from the flagship Fantom-G.
The GW-8 carves a unique path in the arranger-workstation market with its high quality sound set, clean and easy user interface, and ultra- affordable price. The GW-8 features a wide variety of pre-programmed styles, focusing on the musical styles of South America and the southwest United States, and can be constantly refreshed with new songs and styles via its USB flash memory playback feature.
Finally, the Pianos & Organ Division is proud to announce the Roland RG-1 digital mini-grand piano. The RG-1 provides the most expressive and natural playing experience possible with Roland’s acclaimed PHA II “Ivory Feel” keyboard with escapement, which absorbs moisture to replicate the secure, slip-proof feel of ivory keys. This latest addition to their industry-leading line of digital pianos offers high-end piano sound, playability, and performance with the look and feel of a traditional piano.
