FREQ NASTY

IN BRIEF…. Born in Fiji, raised in New Zealand and formed musically in the dance music revolution of London in the 90’s, FreQ Nasty now splits his time between Los Angeles and London. He started his career on the seminal UK label Botchit & Scarper in the late nineties, moving to SKINT records in 2003. He has gone on to release a slew of cutting-edge records collaborating and remixing a diverse range of artists including Fatboy Slim, Kelis, KRS One, Roots Manuva, Rodney P, and Reggae legend Junior Delgado. He co-founded the http://www.Giveback.net site in 2007 to help musicians and artists support causes they’re passionate about, and in the past year his collaboration with MIA producer Switch and NYChipster Santogold ‘Creator’ has been an unavoidable crossover hit.
MARTYPARTY

Born and raised in South Africa, found his way to San Francisco 15 years ago as a software programmer. After discovering the music of the west coast and wanting to “Africanize” it, Marty picked up Ableton Live and began to learn the art of music production in 2007. He soon after released his first digital album “Walkerville to the West Coast”, named for the town he grew up in and a tribute to his path to the US. Since 2007 MartyParty has produced sets of original music that range from melodic instrumental hip hop, to bassline oriented dubstep. MartyParty has started a movement back towards the power of the melody and the harmony in electronic composition. Song writing has always been Marty’s passion instead of the typical beat style dj production. The music is a hybrid of electronic music and hip hop that together forms a totally new flavor of urban beat with the pretty hypnotic elements of electronic music and hard-hitting bass. The MartyParty live performance is an intense journey that pulls together the MartyParty songs overlaid with urban samples triggered live. The result is a true “crunky” and “hyphy” experience like no other. Marty has been playing his live sets to crowds all over the US.

Imagine a precisely blended concoction of tight irresistible grooves, chunk fueled bouncy beats, luscious brooding soundscapes, dollops of stomach morphing bass, and a bowl of scrumptious glitch. Welcome to the musical world of Opiuo.
A self confessed music addict with a light hearted approach to life and art. Opiuo is at his best whilst hiding from the world, creating fun fueled music. Influences coming from everything, from life changing experiences, to mere cups of tea. Incorporating sounds as varied as jazz, reggae, funk, rock, psychedelia, and down right chunky goodness.
Originally from a small town in the deep New Zealand countryside, Opiuo now resides in the pimp hustle back streets of Melbourne Australia, where he has built an international reputation for his original, party fueling creations, and has played live at festivals and clubs the world over.
The highly sought after Opiuo sound is being included in DJ sets from some of the biggest names in the business, featured on high profile radio stations, and has topped electronic music download charts. Including being the number one selling artist on Addictech.com for 2010. Quite literally rocking dance floors in every corner of the globe.
With releases with some of the worlds most respected electronic music labels including; Muti Music, Addictech Records, Rottun Recordings, Iboga Records, Home Breakin Records, Colony Productions, and Empathy Records, the Opiuo train is definitely in motion!
Now lets all stand up, shake down, and get ready for a right ol stomp!
