UPDATE: Now with serious sound reinforcement
After the roaring success of the last Metropolis with Andy C. BASS FUELED MISCHIEF (http://www.bassfueledmischief.com/) are back with Metropolis, featuring UK’s drum & Bass Don TC. Also on this huge lineup is America’s king of D&B DJ …Dara, New Yorks Dubstep revolutionaries Hellfire Machina, Belgium’s finest Dubstep export Syndaesia and one of New York’s brightest up & coming stars Enoe.
TC || D-Style || (UK)
TC (also known as Tommy Boy) is the stage name of drum and bass producer and Bristol DJ Tom Casswell. He left school and started making music inspired by the sounds of the Bristol scene and the music and atmosphere of St. Paul’s, the area of Bristol where he grew up.
His debut album, Evolution, was released in 2007 on D-Style Recordings. TC also presented the latest edition of Watch The Ride, a compilation CD released several times a year. Scratch Perverts and DJ Zinc have released them previously. His tracks Deep (feat. MC Jakes) and Jump have achieved critical acclaim in the rave scene. TC has made appearances on shows hosted by Radio 1’s Zane Lowe and is regarded as a breath of fresh air in the drum and bass scene.
TC’s beats are so advanced that they make rookie producers want to give up, his record sales continue to confound ‘vinyl is dead’ doomsayers, and with a live act that’s touring the world – TC is just irresistible in drum & bass right now.” Verified by sales, awards, great press coverage and extensive club and radio support from dance music’s elite. Each of the singles taken from his debut album ‘EVOLUTION’ topped both BBC Radio 1’s national dance chart and BBC 1Xtra’s drum&bass chart. These include ‘Deep’, ‘Jump’, ‘Rockstar’ and ‘Where’s My Money’. Largely due to unprecedented radio support from BBC Radio 1, XFM and KISS FM including Zane Lowe (the album was his record of the week) Annie Mac, Jo Whiley, Pete Tong, Mary Ann Hobbs, Grooverider, Eddy Temple Morris and DJ Hype.
TC left school and jumped straight into the studio and with his Atari ST and sampler and started making tracks “I’m still trying to capture the vibe production can be sweet but if there’s no vibe the tune is never going to work”. After 8 years of learning and producing and song writing TC is now one of drum and bass’s brightest sparks with all the major DJs smashing his tunes.
“I want to make music that can be enjoyed by anyone. I make every style of drum and bass because you never know where you are going to be playing. You might turn up to the gig and there’s 8000 people standing in front of you wanting you to smash it or maybe just 300 but you have to have the right tools in your box to get the job done and take them on a journey”.
He takes a lot of inspiration from the music he heard growing up in St. Paul’s, a vibrant inner city community famed for its West Indian carnival, as much as its history of riots and ghetto vibes. “St. Paul’s is cool. You hear a lot of music. I can’t say I’ve never had trouble there, because I have, but I think that kind of thing just teaches you to keep your eyes open!”
TC feels very strongly that despite his successes his work is far from over, he is going to carry on spending nights “in the lab” until everything is just right. In his own words. “The minute you get lazy, the whole thing falls apart around your ears! Sound is something that never stands still, it’s a vibration, if you want to work with sound, you’ve got to keep moving on!

DJ DARA || Breakbeat Science || Planet of the drums
DJ Dara is considered one of, if not THE, best drum’n’bass DJ in the USA, but his presence is felt internationally. Orignally from Ireland, Dara moved stateside in the early ’90s and quickly established himself in New York’s underground dance scene. Furthering the movement, he helped open Breakbeat Science, the first drum’n’bass-only record store in the country, which lead to the development of two spin-off labels, Breakbeat Science Recordings and Orgone. Not to be outdone by his peers, Dara released his first full-length album, Rinsimus Maximus in 1997, which was quicly followed by Halfway Home on the same label (Sm:)e Communications) and the mix CD From Here To There on Moonshine Music. In addition to recording music and running his record store, Dara’s also known for his Web-TV show, Velocity, on which he interviews drum’n’bass
contemporaries from around the world.

HELLFIRE MACHINA || Brap Dem || Bassism || Rocstar || (UK)
Prior to the birth of this project in late 2008. Jody Shires and Tom Williams collectively had over 60 releases under their belts, along with production work for grammy nominated artists, numerous UK top ten remixes, 5 Breakspoll Awards, Best International Dj in the Spanish EDM awards 3 years running and a history in bass culture that is second to none.. The year is now 2010, sonic exploration in the realm of bass fueled riddims is the primary mission for Hellfire Machina. With residencies at New Yorks legendary Club Love, Darkroom in Brooklyn and Psychadelic Radio in SF, it’s no wonder these guys are in high demand. Their weekly radio show on dubstepfm has gone from strength to strength and has helped push the awareness of bass music across the globe as well as providing a platform to hear the latest Hellfire creations first, often in early stages as they are delevoped in their now famously named studio Planet Twisted. Ending last year with A and R and project management credits for the Wu Tang ‘Enter The Dubstep’ album and a string of singles and remixes, they have hit the ground running in 2010. A fresh batch of releases due to hit the streets imminently, a new label project with techno legend Lenny Dee in the works as well as the next chapter in the infamous BASS FUELED MISCHIEF parties in their homebase of NYC. This is the age of the machine with Hellfire firmly at the controls……………..

SYNDAESIA || Code of Arms || (Belgium)
With several epic releases under his belt and an official remix of “Iconoclasts” by the notorious hip hop collective Wu Tang Clan, belgian dubstep prodigy Syndaesia is turning heads all over the world.
This young producer with roots ranging from rock, funk to drum&bass creates music with the sole intention of smashing up a dancefloor. In just a short amount of time he has seemingly reached sonic perfection, giving birth to dubstep with an in-your-face attitude that is on the wish list of radio stations & dj’s around the globe.
In 2009 his unique approach to club music was picked up by Belgian electronics collective AKS (Addicted Kru Sound), who offered Syndaesia the opportunity to become the official guitarist for AKS live & co-produce their upcoming singles.
The very same year Syndaesia won Studio Brussel’s producers contest with his dubstep anthem “Bad Karma”, made a remix for the critically praised album “Wu Tang meets Indie culture VOL 2: Enter the dubstep” & signed record deals with american labels Code of Arms records & Abducted records.
Today the Syndaesia sound continues to rampage across the club scene. His smashing debut album ” Turbulence” is due for release in the summer on Code of Arms records. What to expect? A futuristic cocktail of big stadium drums, twisted basslines, trancey leads, explosive build-ups & tons of energy.
