SophieSugar is one of the shining stars of the global trance scene. Anestablished international DJ in her own right and now making wavesaround the world as a talented and exciting producer, it is easy to seewhere this young lady is heading.

Sophie was always a musiclover – playing the piano for 8 years and collecting records from thetender age of 6! In her teens, she became involved in the club scene,fell in love with trance music and began DJing.

In 2004 she was delighted to win the prestigious Gallery/DJ Magazine DJ competition.

In2005 and 2006, Sophie released the hugely successful tracks ‘Call ofTomorrow’ and ‘Isis’, on respected labels Galactive and ATCR, both ofwhich received support from many of the world’s top DJs including PaulVan Dyk and Armin Van Buuren.

Her career went from strength tostrength as she played to a growing worldwide fan base in areas such asCanada, Morocco, Abu Dhabi, China, Europe and at leading UK nights suchas The Gallery, Serious and Passion.

In 2007, ‘Fallen Too Far’became a worldwide smash hit after being signed to Armin Van Buuren’sworld-renowned label Armada. The track received heavy support from theworld’s A list trance DJs and was featured in top 10 download charts onnumerous dance music download websites.

This was followed with’Day Seven’, which Armin chose to feature on ‘A State of Trance 2007′,’Sense of Connection’ and Sophie’s very own interpretation of the Artof Trance anthem ‘Madagascar’. All tracks were hugely successful,further enhancing Sophie’s reputation as an exciting new producer withdjs and fans worldwide and leading her to new areas across the worldincluding a 10 date tour of Indonesia. She received continued supportfrom the dancemusic press throughout the year including being featured as ‘One To Watch’ by Mixmag.

In2008, Sophie’s name exploded with events around the world includingGermany, The Czech Republic, the USA, Australia and New Zealand, therelease of her incredible track ‘Redemption’ and the hugely successfulAustralian compilation ‘Mixology 11’.  She finished off the year instyle playing to a 5,000 strong crowd in Johannesburg.

2009 sawthe release of Sophie’s hugely successful debut vocal track ‘BesideYou’ featuring the haunting vocals of Rebecca Emely as well as thefollow up to Redemption – ‘Together’ – which held the No.1 spot onAudiojelly for no less than 4 weeks in a row, the launch of her hugelypopular ‘Symphony’ radio show on di.fm and events around the world fromVietnam to Argentina, Malta, Germany, Sweden, South Africa, Russia andmore. She was honored to be the only female to play at the incredibleASOT 400 events on a line-up of over 70 DJs.

With her owndistinct brand of driving, uplifting trance – both in her productionsand DJ sets – Sophie Sugar plays a very exciting part in the worldwidetrance scene.
