matthias tanzmann – restless remixes part 1 (mhr036)
although matthias tanzmann’s well received album “restless” is still within the focus of attention, the first ep with remixes is already due for release. the remix artists are well chosen as there are both newcomers and big names of the electronic music scene to complement the character of “restless”.
guido schneider’s version of “crazy circus” (a1) has a lot in common with the original. his interpretation displays his typical atmospheric sound design, yet never losing its drive towards the dancefloor. despite its complexity, guido schneider delivers a well adjusted house track.
rozzo a.k.a. peter dildo once more proves his remixing talents. for him being part of the swiss deep house duo mountain people, the smooth and dubby character of “swim” might have been a lot up his alley. so it is no wonder he builds his remix on similar elements. amazing chords and a fantastic groove determine this beautiful and relaxing house remix (b1).
the dutchman boris werner from the 100% pure / remote area crew from amsterdam is definitely a new talent to monitor. for this remix ep he is turning “keep on” into a functional tech-house track (b2). together with lauhaus, boris werner already relased on remote area. and he will soon be back to moon harbour as one exclusive track of him will appear on our inhouse vol. 3 compilation in autumn.

part two of the double release of remixes of matthias tanzmann’s album “restless” is as high quality as its forerunner with remixes from samim, reboot and petre inspirescu.
reboot, who has had massive debuts on cadenza and below, kicks off the a-side where he remixes “love-shaped feeling”. the frankfurt-based producer concentrates on the intense harmonies of the original to create a mix perfect for sunrise after a long
clubnight.
samim, the darling of the electronic music scene, takes things a little tougher with his mix of “crazy circus”. the swiss producer marries a strong, old school house beat with an insistent bassline and twists the original into his own, individual but congenial style
and arrangement.
finally, romanian newcomer petre inspirescu of arpiar and cadenza closes the remix package. his remix of “hotel sapporo” starts as a slightly convoluted minimal track but gradually flowers into a wonderous contemporary house cut across 10 minutes via graceful modulation and the hypnotic magic he is known for.
