This Halloween, October 31, the boisterous party-rockin’ of De La Soul’s third Plug, Maseo, will be setting the dancefloor ablaze in the eerie depths of the Club Six basement. De La Soul just celebrated twenty years of Hip-Hop classics, packing the Fillmore to capacity just a few months back. Now, DJ extraordinaire and sometimes MC, Maseo returns to one of his favorite stomping grounds in San Francisco, Club 6, to rip a two-hour set of rambunctious party jams and the crem de la crem of classic, hip-hop, breaks and soul.
Support for Maseo includes local and international turntable star and DMC champ, DJ Shortkut of the Beat Junkies and Triple Threat DJs. Upstairs in Club Six’s white room, Jah-Yzer of the bay area’s champion reggae DJ crew, Jah-Warrior Shelter anchors the reggae lineup dropping hot lava jumpup riddims throughout the night.
Bay area femcee, Melina Jones will act as the mistress of ceremonies as the crowd’s favorites are crowned Halloween King and Queen of the party for most creative costume. Expect a soiree of ghouls, goblin and scantily clad vixens dropping round bottoms to bass bottoms, swilling lavish liquid libations and revealing eccentric Halloween alter-egos. Red Strip and Guinness Beers will be providing drink specials and DJs Serge and Nyce will be rounding out the DJ lineup.
