(July 17th – July 19th) – PITCHFORK MUSIC FESTIVAL 2009: TWO-DAY PASSES SOLD OUT, “WRITE THE NIGHT” VOTING CLOSES TODAY, FESTIVAL RECYCLING AND MORE!
The 2009 Pitchfork Music Festival, held at Chicago’s Union Park on July 17th – July 19th, is just over a month away. Two-day festival passes are now sold out! Sunday passes are shrinking in number as well, so don’t miss out on a chance to see The Flaming Lips perform some deep cuts by request, along with the rest of the already robust Sunday lineup. Single-day passes are the last option available, and they can be purchased at http://www.pitchforkmusicfestival.com. Don’t miss out!
Additionally, this is the final reminder that “Write the Night” voting comes to a close tonight at 11:59 PM, so make sure to hit the ballot boxes before it’s too late. This is the ultimate audience participation experience, putting the set-lists for Built to Spill, the Jesus Lizard, Tortoise, Yo La Tengo, and selected requests for The Flaming Lips firmly in the hands of the fans in attendance.
Finally, we have more festival activities to share with you…
PMF Recycling Store
The Pitchfork Music Festival is proud to announce the return of the PMF Recycling Store! This is a service provided by the festival to ensure that this event is one of the greenest summer festivals out there. Festival goers can bring any of their recyclables (plastic beer cups & bottles) to the PMF Recycling Store, deliver them to our helpful volunteers, and be rewarded for their environmental consciousness with sponsor-donated swag, including water bottles, wristbands, laptop cases, and more! Also, East Jordan Plastics (http://www.eastjordanplastics.com), the company that will ultimately be taking all the recyclables, will be showcasing flower pots and trays made from recycled #6 plastic.
Gastro-Festivular Accommodations
Fifteen Chicago vendors will provide grandiose gustation ranging from vegan to meat, southwest BBQ to Eastern Asian cuisine, and everything in between making this year’s festival food fare the best yet. This years vendors are: Robinson’s Ribs, Star of Siam, Bite Cafe, The Rice Table, Wishbone, Abbey Pub, Cevapcici, Bombay Station, Urb Garden, Berghoff, Connie’s Pizza, Goose Island, Chicago Diner, Whole Foods, and Temptation Ice Cream.
