Big thanks to M A N I K, Lauren Lane, and Pauly Raffaele for throwing down some amazing house music last month! Throwing a party a few days prior to the WMC, we were a little skeptical, but were pleasantly surprised at a great turn out. We always learn a lot in Miami. What to do, what not to do, what people outside of New York are thinking, and how we can better improve. Hopefully as the months go by we’ll have a chance to bring SoBe’s mellow and care-free feel to Dog & Pony.

A huge Dog & Pony inspiration, Berlin-based, Swiss-born Yanneck Salvo aka IANEQ aka QUARION is a producer who most look up to as the standard for tech house versatility. We’re pretty hyped about this one! His sound is smooth, melodic, chunky, deep, dark and extremely hard to come by. His 2006 jazz and hip hop inspired, “Karasu” was heavily endorsed by Ame, Dixon, Theo Parrish, Omar-S among many others. A prime example of Quarion’s ability to meld genres seamlessly, his remixes of tracks by Dirt Crew, Agnes, Alex Attias, Jagged have been charted by an array of influencers. His take on Jamie Lloyd’s “May I?” and Andres Garcia’s “No More Tears” are paraded by world-class DJs. A moody yet gregarious soul, Quarion’s uplifting house with instrumental flourishes is often imitated but rarely duplicated. -LEKS the IMPOSTER [ampd! | nyc]
The mastermind behind New York’s ‘Ampd!’ is one of the few people who can confidently say he took a brand new venue, a brand new party, a Thursday night, and a musically driven crowd to create a monthly religious following. He’s played along-side Reboot, Hugo, Clive Henry, Nick Curly, Simon Baker, Behrouz, Eddie Richards, Taimur & Fahad, Soul Clap, Kabuto & Koji and many many others. His special guest appearances in Costa Rica have become nothing less then legendary. Setting our Dog & Pony standard, you can be confident you’ll hear nothing but the best in top-tier house, disco and techno. Technically – Pauly will serve near-flawless mixing and steady programming topped with a little french-inspired flavor due to his recent return from ‘The Itsy Bitsy, Teenie Weenie French tour’. His resumé (pardon our French), is pretty ridiculous (and we don’t want to sit here all night) -but he’s played with the likes of Frankie Knuckles, Steve Lawler, Josh Wink, Danny Krivit, Dimitri From Paris, Sandy Rivera, Tedd Patterson, Sander K and a shit load of others. Very good friend, hugely talented producer, and music connoisseur Ab Fredericks aka A.B. will be gracing us with a special opening set. Get ready for a bunch of “I’ve never heard this before,” “What is that?”, and “Where did he get this?!” inspired by everyone from the likes of Donato Dozzy, Marcell Dettmann, Function, Cassy, to Danny Krivit, Louie Vega, Danny Tenaglia and many others. Sadly A.B. doesn’t tell us what he’s playing either! =)

-ABOUT THE PARTY:
Dog and Pony are the mischievous main characters at our festive monthly music function. Other regular characters include nerds, pranksters, rock stars, porn stars, hipsters, and party animals in their natural habitat.
