FORWARD DISCO presents

“A TRIBUTE TO THE 90′s” with DANNY KRIVIT

On Saturday March 29th, Forward Disco and Cielo are proud to present lifelong New Yorker Danny Krivit playing a “Tribute to the 90′s” set from his vast arsenal of vinyl. “I play stuff with no age. It could go any which way at any moment,” he says. “It’s more about the sense of the music and where the audience is taking me.” As to his history, Krivit is the don behind the immensely popular 718 Sessions and one-third of the Body & Soul collective. He started DJing in his early teens and learned from all the greats (James Brown, David Mancuso, Larry Levan et al), winning notoriety for his funk, soul, and disco edits under the Mr. K guise. Danny has passion for classics and a penchant for vinyl, the medium of which he’s become an elder statesman. “I just want to remind people now is the time to buy. It’s at a low in price and there’s an abundance of it. People think it’s going to be there forever but it’s not. Stuff you will never see again is around now. So if you want it on vinyl, get it now!”

Joining Danny on this special night will be Rissa Garcia. Born and raised in NYC, Rissa has been one of the city’s greatest supporters and contributors to the music scene. From growing up on the dancefloor of Vinyl, Rissa has played every room in the city as well as running her own Nightchild Records imprint. Forward Disco residents Sean Cormac & Chili Davis round things out for an evening that is not to be missed.
