James Curd is an early bird. He started his Dj career when he was only fifteen years old in Chicago. Being underage, Curd was snuck into events to play at raves and clubs he couldn’t go normally. Through his love of Djing and music Curd began to produce music own his own, which let soon to his first release on the well-respected Basenotic imprint from Paris being only nineteen years old. With his musically open Greenskeepers project Curd pushed the doors wide open to the club hall of fame with an array of releases for the legendary Classic records (if you have ever played GTA you probably know “Greenskeepers” music) and also with his most recent output for DFA or 40 Thieves’ Smash Hit music. “Open up your mind” is one of these great funk inspired house tracks, for which James is famous for, and features Devin Byrnes on the mic, who delivers a killer spoken words performance that will stuck in your head like chewing gum under your school desk.
