Party Number 9 in a series of 12
Well the Launch was outstanding – “one of the best nights i have had as a DJ – amazing atmosphere Amazing crowd, just great”,
Party number 2 we took things further, pushing the musical boundaries even further, the 3rd installment saw craig disregard boundaries all together with the most varied set ever to have been heard in Cardiff, with the whole club at 4am singing It must be Love my Madness.
Party number 4 i took things in a different direction with some serious 80’s soul and funk,
Party no 5 i went all disco and 80’s eclectic which was a real blast for me
Party no 6 – half way through the year already, we celebrated Michael Jackson’s life and paid tribute to his death, as well as 40 years of Glastonbury and the appearance of Stevie Wonder
another great night with Craig digging deep in his crates and dusting off the classics.
Party number 7 saw craig literally take the roof off and take you back to the soul and funk drenched 80’s with a selection of boogie club classics that included, the mac band, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, alexander o neil, luther the list goes on and on we finished at 4.30am as people refused to leave, the atmosphere was fantastic with people likening it to Lloyds, Cha Cha’s and Chicago’s job done loverly.
Party number 8 was the bank holiday special which had a massive reggae feel, with craig playing Bob Marley, the toots and the maytals, ub40, 10 cc, ziggy marley to name a few. It was fantastic once more with the biggest reaction to Billy Ocean’s Carribean Queen, with a close second going to technotronic and Pump up the jam.
so we are therefore delighted to present to you session number 9 in a series of 12 parties in 2010.
Expect some ska, motown nothern soul nu soul neo soul rare groove boogie disco funk house old and new and an 80’s pop special on:
Saturday 25th September 2010
Taking you back to the days of Studio 54, the Gallery and Paradise Garage, those early house nights of Shoom and beyond – 3 Wise Men, Cha Chas, Lloyds, Tom Toms, the Loop, Spice of Life, The original emporium Days – staying up all night with wild abandonment, you all remember those days. We waited all week for them the weekend could not come sooner.
Well we hope that will take place again on the last Saturday of EVERY month in 2010 at Crystal nightclub, a boutique nightclub in the heart of Cardiff City centre.
A space designed to cater for discerning customers searching for a discreet and private haven to enjoy sublime drinks great company and an unrivaled soundtrack of music. For this very special monthly event expect anything and everything.
Craig will be accompanied by live musicians and singers to provide a hedonistic mix of eclectic sounds that will stimulate your senses and will take you on a journey through all styles of good music – good times……..
Craig’s unique and eclectic style of soul funk disco and soulful dance music that will be played at Crystal will echo that of the legendary Paradise Garage, The Gallery and of course Studio 54 “garage style” and “garage classic” terms used to describe a record that was made famous or is associated with the Paradise Garage, a style of music that has lasted almost 3 decades and changed most of our lives. Hopefully a new term will be used constantly in 2010 Crystal classic – so come be part of the future of Cardiff Clubbing.
Craig will be playing all kinds of music so long as it is danceable, you are likely to hear, The Clash and The Police as well as traditional “disco” artists like Gwen Guthrie and Sylvester, to the sweet soulful sounds of Alexander O’ Neal, Loose Ends, En vogue, Price, Imagination, Chic, sister sledge, Rose Royce and lots of classic and modern day soulful house – Real music for real people.
– this night is for people who enjoy quality music, this is all about the music –
Craig will focus on his ability to choose and play different records from different types of music and make it all fit together to create the ultimate night out and party atmosphere… Craig will happily play requests so long as he has it, obviously, Craig wont be playing new rnb or upfront house this is all about playing an eclectic mix …
