Carlos Mendoza and Peter Christianson formed LawnChair Generals in 2001 while working together at Seattle’s Platinum Records. The duo have been shaping the future of underground House music ever since. With their talent both behind the decks and in the studio, LCG have simultaneously blazed their way into the crates, mix compilations, and ranks of the world’s elite House music acts.
Om Records, Aroma Records, Uniting Souls, Amenti Recordings, Nordic Trax and their own imprint LawnChair Generals Music, among others, have released LawnChair Generals tracks and celebrated remixes. Their tracks have appeared on compilations from Fabric, Ministry of Sound, Om Records, Classic Recordings, DJ Magazine and IDJ and by DJ heavyweights Mark Farina, Heather, Sneak, Hippe & Halo, Kaskade, Fred Everything, Shapeshifters, Derrick Carter and many more.
From as close to home as Flammable @ Rebar in Seattle to as far away as the clubs of Australia, South Africa and Europe, LCGs’ rambunctious two-jock DJ sets have become a prerequisite experience for bona fide House-heads around the world. Their performances further cement the strong impression left by the music they create. And wherever the production path may take LCG, they’re likely to embrace respect without forgetting their DJ roots. As Carlos puts it, “Peter and I are DJs first. We make music we want to play.”
“I Want” was LCG Music’s first release of 2010 (LCG Music), and with support from Doc Martin, Kaskade, Raoul Belmans, Giom, Audio Soul Project. They followed up with LCG feat. Alexander East, “Talk to Me” with remixes from Rhythm Plate and Giom that happily bounced their way through the WMC sound systems. Just in time for summer the duo were excited to drop a sweet remix for “Call on Me” Joshua Heath, feat. Colette; the first single Colette’s new label, Candy Talk.
