DJ David Knapp mixes new White Party CD

New York, NY (December 9, 2008) – Anyone who has ever been to The White Party in Miami understands the integral role DJs and music play in the overall fundraising venture. This year was no exception with decadent parties and dance events taking place around the city at museums, clubs, poolside and the beach. David Knapp was one in an exclusive group of DJs asked to play during the 2008 events and he is also behind the new Official benefit album “Party Groove: White Party 9″, produced by Centaur.

Atlanta based Knapp is well known for his classic house mixes that blend the latest and hottest beats and biggest voices in dance. His latest collection includes seven artists who have all sat comfortably in the #1 spot on Billboard, plus three songs that have done the same, including “Grass Is Greener” and dance remakes of “Give It 2 Me” and “Spotlight”. David’s mixing skills are the best in the business and on this latest mix he opens and closes with his two of his own productions – “Exordium” and “Manumission”.

In 1996 David mixed the very first White Party CD and in 1998 joined forces with Centaur to produce what would become a long line of critically acclaimed benefit albums for The White Party. The success of these albums set a precedent for event albums to follow including those produced by Centaur for Gay Days, Winter Party, One Mighty Weekend, Fireball, Blue Ball, Hotlanta, Cherry and others. David returns to mixing duties on the new White Party album this year after a few years hiatus, and he was also featured at the return of the popular Amnesia (Opium Garden) T-Dance during White Party on November 30.

David introduces us to new songs from Offer Nissim “I’m In Love”, Kristine W. “Never”, Celeda “Good Time”, Debby Holiday “Joyful Sound” while also tapping into a classic with the 2008 version of India’s own “Can’t Get No Sleep” and the Latin sensation Charo’s latest offering “Espana Cani”. Also featured on “Party Groove: White Party 9” are remixes from a stellar group of producers including Dj Escape, Johnny Vicious, Wayne G., Scotty K., Manny Lehman, Twisted Dee and Jody den Broeder.

“Party Groove: White Party 9” will be available in stores nationwide on December 23 and on iTunes worldwide. The album can also be purchased at www.centaurmusic.com and www.theoutclub.com, where you can sample each song as well as choose between a CD or a digital download of the album.

Since 1988 Centaur has been producing benefit dance albums to help raise money for some of the most worthwhile causes in the gay and lesbian community. The White Party CDs, which benefit Care Resource, are among Centaur’s first, boasting critical acclaim for the mixes by DJs David Knapp, Tracy Young, Warren Gluck and Wendy Hunt. Care Resource is Florida’s One Source for HIV/AIDS services.
