I just want to say that I am VERY happy to see the return of Dance Music Authority.

For me, I owe a LOT to this magazine during its run in the 90's.  When I had formed the Metro New York Dance Radio Coalition back in 1993 and sent out newsletters regarding the cause, DMA printed the exact newsletter VERBATIM!  The mag fully supported what we were doing and I fully supported DMA in return.

A lot of things have changed since those "simple days" 15 years ago, where terrestrial radio was still a major force in influencing music, people bought music at record stores, the Internet was still in its infancy and was NOWHERE like it is today, where we operated the coalition with printed out newsletters and had people send in self-adressed stamped envelopes! Laughing  Technology rose up, you have TONS of options (satellites, streamers, iPods) of hearing dance music outside of terrestrial radio, people can download music, MySpace and Facebook are around for networking and DMA is now online!

We are STILL fighting for further recognition of dance music into the mainstream, and do so without asking ONE penny from anyone.  We are fans of the music and feel that it is important that dance music can share the same stage as pop, hip-hop, rock and country music in the US as well as Canada.

We definitely miss ya ol' friend!  Welcome back!!

Thanks so much for the kind words, Tony!

These are very exciting times for dance music lovers—regardless of specific genre preferences or one’s role in the industry. The digital revolution has really “flipped the script” and now allows artists to sell product directly to their fan base all over the world—without margin-eating packaging and shipping costs.

We look forward to more pluggers and the latest news from the great city of New York!  If you have a suggestion for editorial coverage, just drop a line.Cool

Tony, it really is a global village and we now have the ability to take full advantage of some exciting, new digital tools and spread the love!

Peace, Tony!
