It’s the kind of event where sounds of all origins are played, not limited to one particular format but always sharing this common link of dub, whether improvised live at the mixing console or played from original recordings.

Dub War has been in hibernation for over a year, but when the NYC
legend Francois K graciously asked Dub War to take over his Deep Space
weekly at Cielo for one night only, they didn’t have to think twice
about it.

Deep Space, now in its 8th year of running weekly dub-inspired parties
every Monday on Cielo’s mighty Funktion One sound system, is thrilled
to have its dubstep cousin, Dub War, take over the spaceship for a
night. Dub War’s consortium of heavy hitters is joined by special
guest and Hessle Audio co-founder, Pangaea, direct from the UK.

London producer Pangaea. He co-founded the legendary record label
Hessle Audio along with Ramadanman and Ben UFO, which has released
many seminal tunes in the past several years which have charted a
unique course for dubstep’s future. Combining elements of house,
techno, classic dubstep, and uncategorizeable rhythmic innovation,
Pangaea’s own tracks have been some of the unmistakeable anthems of
dubstep’s recent past.

DOES YOUR HOUSE SOUND LIKE THIS?

Trance hero John 00 Fleming shows DJsounds round his current DJ rider consisting of the CDJ-2000s, rekordbox and DJM-2000. On the stage at the Concorde 2 in Brighton before the start of his J00F sessions night, John shows us how he’s playing off rekordbox and the CDJ’s using Pro DJ Link. He stresses the importance of organising your set in rekordbox and how the DJM-2000 brings the whole system together. The transition from CD to USB can be quite a challenge but Jon tells us how the new CDJ’s and rekordbox actually make it very easy.

We will be catching up with John for a more thorough, in depth chat shortly where he tells us just what is wrong with producer-DJs and the Trance scene.

We just got turned on to this very cool vid by one of our favorite PR gurus, Sara Cooper. Since we are based in Chicago, the scale of this event (15,000) is of particular interest.  We love success stories like this!

Sander van Doorn’s triumphant return to the sold out Energy festival in the Netherlands this past February was truly one for the record books. Formerly known as Trance Energy, the event plays host to the biggest EDM stars in the world today.  With his closing set, Sander transfixed the crowd, keeping all 15 thousand people dancing until the dawn.

Many thought his headlining performance last year could not be topped, but Sander loves a challenge, and blew the roof so high off the events center at Jaarbeurs, Utrecht, that it’s still orbiting around in space today.

Christopher Lawrence is at it again!  We love everything about the track and the video.  In the vid, we’re particularly intrigued by the use of low light levels and filters (Boris?; After Affects?).  There is absolutely no “muddiness” in the dark shots.  We’re videography geeks and can’t wait to read the URB link to check out the behind-the-scenes info.  The look is VERY hot and the video editing is extremely tight.  In our humble opinion, the overall project exemplifies the RAW power that all independent artists have at their disposal–you just have to have the chops to get it done.  Bravo!  –J. “America’s Top Trance DJ” Christopher Lawrence has teamed up with Perfecto’s Suzie del Vecchio for a chest pounding trance piece, aptly titled “A Little Rush”.

Suzie’s evocative vocals and Christopher’s masterful production swirl together to form an adrenaline injection that is sure to make dance floors bounce harder, drivers hit the gas a little bit and headphone junkies snap their necks. Equally at home on the dance floor or the radio, “A Little Rush” does its job to brighten up any room and turn the energy up a notch.

The official music video for ‘A Little Rush’ was shot on location in Hollywood CA and includes scenes shot at Monday Social at the Playhouse. Directed by Roberto E. Lepe, this cinematic video is a fast paced chase through the vibrant clubland and city streets of Los Angeles.

It’s clear to see that Le Grand means business this year. Not only has he managed to bag the illustrious ‘Beatport hat-trick’, but aside from his undeniable production prowess, our favourite Dutchman is looking forward to an action packed tour diary, gracing some of the most stellar events in dance music. With debut billings at ‘Coachella’ and ‘Exit festival’, as well as welcome returns to ‘Ultra’, ‘Tomorrowland’ and Holland’s ‘Loveland’, 2011 looks to be Fedde’s biggest year yet, both inside and out of the studio.
