Killer Whale are London’s hottest disco band right now comprised of infamous session musicians, producers, DJ’s and live performers. Often called the disco super-group that is fused with members from Faze Action & Yam Who? including Robin Lee (bass), Mary Moore (vocals), Scotty B…aylis (trumpet), Des Morgan (percussion), Rob Aitken (guitar), Andy Williams (vocals & keyboards) and Hamish Balfour (keyboards).
Killer Whale are heavily influenced by the modern cutting edge London music scene and also the eccentric 80’s downtown New York era often sound-checking Arthur Russell ,Talking Heads, ESG, Larry Levan, Bob Blank, Jellybean Benitez, Kid Creole, Patrick Adams and Walter Gibbons as major influences.
Killer Whale blend house rhythms with Western pop, African and eastern music also taking on board, funk, disco, and jazz and have attracted the attention of mega re-mixer Leo Zero who has reworked their debut release on Yam Who’s ISM records label. Their version of Arthur Russell’s ‘Tell You (today)’ features original Loose Joints collaborators Joyce Bowden & Peter Gordon.
They have recently supplied remixes to the Phenomenal Handclap Band, Black Cherry, Ilija Rudmon and Ron Basejam.
Killer Whale are headlining this years Garden Festival in Croatia and have forthcoming gigs in London and around the UK.
